The waterfall cascades over basalt rocks, creating a unique mix of rustic and wild scenery. The Kirkjasfoss waterfall is a natural wonder that should not be missed. It is accessible through a small dirt track and is best viewed from the front where you can see the vertical flow of the water over the rocks. If you want to get the best views of the entire waterfall you should climb up the small hill in front. There are also plenty of other activities to be done near the waterfall, such as hiking, kayaking, and bird watching.
