Kilmainham Gaol is a former prison located in Kilmainham, Ireland. Built in 1796, it once held some of the most famous Irish rebels sent to jail by British forces. The prison is now open to the public as a museum and historic site, and visitors can explore the cells, the courtyard, and yard to gain insight into life in the prison between 1796 and 1924.
