Khudozhestvennaya Galereya, literally “Art Gallery,” is the former name still used for Kaliningrad’s regional fine-arts institution, now known as the Kaliningrad Museum of Fine Arts. Its exhibitions connect Russian, Soviet, contemporary, and regional artistic traditions, reflecting a city shaped by both Königsberg’s German heritage and the postwar Soviet period. The museum occupies the former Königsberg Stock Exchange beside the Pregolya River, a monumental 19th-century building whose pale stone façade, arched windows, and broad steps create strong architectural symmetry. River views place the building within Kaliningrad’s layered urban landscape.
