Khangsar Valley lies in Nepal’s Manang district, in the high Himalayan landscape north of the Annapurna range. Centered on the village of Khangsar, it forms part of the trekking approach to Tilicho Lake from Manang. The region sits in the Himalayan rain shadow, giving the valley a dry, sparsely vegetated character that contrasts with the snowy ridges above. Stone-built houses, cultivated plots, and Buddhist chortens connect the landscape to the Tibetan-influenced culture of upper Manang. Its distinctive visual scale comes from the small settlement set against broad, eroded slopes and rugged mountain skylines.
