Kewarra Beach is a quiet coastal suburb on the northern beaches of Cairns, facing the Coral Sea between Trinity Beach and Clifton Beach. Its broad sandy shoreline is backed by palms, casuarinas and low tropical vegetation, with fewer high-rise buildings than some nearby resort areas. The most characteristic photographs combine the gently curving beach, scattered driftwood and silhouettes of offshore islands, especially in the soft light around sunrise. At low tide, shallow water and wet sand create long reflections, while cloud build-up over the tropical coast can add dramatic scale and color. The beach also reflects the residential character of this part of the Cairns coastline, where rainforest-clad ranges sit close behind the narrow coastal plain.
