The Kékestető TV Tower rises from the 1,014-metre summit of Kékes, Hungary’s highest mountain, in the Mátra range above Gyöngyös. Its concrete shaft and red-and-white antenna form a striking vertical landmark against the surrounding forest, while the public observation level opens broad views across the folded Mátra hills and, in clear conditions, toward the lowlands beyond. The scene changes sharply with the seasons: deep green woodland in summer, warm foliage in autumn, and snow or frost that can turn the summit into a stark monochrome landscape in winter. Near the tower, the marked highest point of Hungary adds geographical significance to an otherwise modern broadcasting site.
