📍 From Drone, Hungary
Kékestetői TV-torony rises from the 1,014-metre summit of Kékes, Hungary’s highest mountain, in the Mátra range within the municipality of Gyöngyös. Serving as both a broadcasting tower and a lookout, its concrete shaft, circular viewing levels and narrow antenna form a distinctive landmark above the wooded ridges. From the observation area, the landscape unfolds in layered hills and valleys, with distant lowlands visible in clear conditions; mist and winter snow can instead isolate the tower dramatically from its surroundings. The nearby summit stone, painted in Hungary’s national colours, provides the familiar visual marker of the country’s highest point.
