Kazalnica Mięguszowiecka is a 2,159-metre rocky summit in Poland’s High Tatras, rising above Czarny Staw pod Rysami and Morskie Oko within Tatra National Park, south of Zakopane. Its steep northern wall is one of the best-known arenas of Polish mountaineering, giving the mountain a cultural importance beyond its modest prominence. From the marked route toward Mięguszowiecka Przełęcz pod Chłopkiem, the landscape opens into a striking composition of dark granite, the two glacial lakes at different elevations, and the surrounding peaks. The high, exposed terrain and severe rock faces create especially dramatic scale in photographs, while shifting cloud often alternates between revealing and concealing the ridges.
