
Katsuo-ji Temple is a Zen Buddhist temple located in Minoh, Japan. Established in the 14th century, the temple has an elegant and atmospheric setting. Every lunar new year, a jikigyo (Buddhist ascetic practice) is held at the temple. The main hall houses a seated statue of Yakushi Nyorai, the Buddha of Healing. It also features a national 'Important Cultural Property' mural painted by Kaihō Yúshō. Visit the adjacent Pagoda of Katsuo-ji Temple for a good view of the temple grounds. Visitors are also encouraged to take a stroll through the six cemeteries of Katsuo-ji Temple. The temple also houses a teahouse, offering a range of traditional Japanese teas. There is also a Veggie Cafe, providing vegan dishes. Relax in the peaceful atmosphere as you take in the beautiful scenery.
