Kalaja e Tiranës is an ancient fortress located in the city of Tiranë, Albania. It was built during the 15th century and is located atop a 138 meter hill. The fortress provides amazing views of the city, especially during the evening when the city lights come on. Inside the fortress, visitors can see the ruins of a mosque, a cistern and the curtains used to protect its two bastions. Make sure to climb up the tower to get a great look at the city. Inside the fort are many stairs and stairways , which can be a bit tricky to navigate. While planning your visit, consider visiting in the morning to take advantage of the cool air and the gorgeous views.
