📍 From Road, Iceland
Jökulsárlón's ices located in the south-east part of Iceland is a hard to miss sight. It is a large glacial lagoon that is filled with chunks of floating ice that have broken off a nearby glacier. The lagoon is fed by the glacial river Jökulsa and is constantly changing depending on the weather. Its blue waters provide a stunning contrast to the white and black blocks of ice in its waters. Its rugged walls host some of the most spectacular views in the country, from snow-capped mountains to seals and seabirds. From its shore, you can admire the black sand beach and the nearby glacier beneath the clear night sky. Jökulsárlón offers something very special to travelers and photographers alike – a unique experience of exploring nature that cannot be found elsewhere.
