Jökulsárlón Glacier
📍 From Viewpoint, Iceland
Jökulsárlón Glacier, located in the south-east part of Iceland, is one of the most spectacular glaciers in the world. It is one of the country's largest glaciers, covering an area of almost 18 square kilometers. It is also the deepest lake in Iceland, measuring over 248 meters. The lake features floating blocks of ice from the Vatnajökull Glacier, all noticeable in shades of blue and white. The lake can be accessed via the Ring Road, and a nearby campground makes a great base for exploring the lake. Visitors to the area can enjoy breathtaking views of the glacier, spot unusual flora and fauna, and take scenic walks along the lake's many trails. Canoeing and kayaking tours are also available. This glacier should be seen as one of Iceland’s most unique natural attractions.
