The John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge is a marvel of engineering in the city of Covington, Kentucky. It is the oldest existing bridge of its type in the US. The bridge was designed by famous bridge builder John A. Roebling and opened to the public in 1866. Standing at a height of 322ft, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its construction. The bridge is a popular spot for visitors to take photos and enjoy the views over the Ohio River and the city. It underwent rehabilitation in the 1990s to reinforce the structure and protect it from weatherings and vehicular traffic. After enjoying the breathtaking landscape from the bridge , visitors can explore the nearby offerings such as the Statue of John A. Roebling and the US Bank Skywalk.
