📍 From Reussbrücke, Switzerland
The Jesuitenkirche (Jesuit Church) in the center of Lucerne, Switzerland is a stunning example of the Baroque style of architecture. Built in 1706, the church stands as a reminder of the powerful presence of the Catholic Church in Lucerne in the 17th century. The impressive towers of the church surrounded by its red and white facade, create a magical atmosphere and make this an impressive sight in the city. Inside the church, you can admire the large and beautifully styled ceiling frescoes, as well as its beautiful altarpiece, which contains several interesting statues. There's also a chapel dedicated to the memory of fallen Swiss soldiers, with a bronze statue of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order, in the center. The church, however, is not only a place of beauty, but also of strong faith. Various religious services are held in the Jesuitenkirche throughout the year, including the traditional Easter mass. Visitors and photographers are welcome to enjoy the architecture and enchanting atmosphere of the Jesuitenkirche and its surroundings.
