Jardin d'eau
📍 From Maison de Claude Monet, France
Located in the heart of the small French town of Giverny, the Jardin d'eau is a beautiful landscaped garden and water lily pond. Constructed in the 1890s by Claude Monet, the garden features a curved design of winding pathways and an ornate Japanese bridge crossing over the main pond. Plantings of lush lilies, water hyacinths, and iris add to the picturesque setting. Stone pathways - lined with vibrant pink and green hues of rose bushes - run throughout the garden and lead up to Monet’s historic home and studio. The pond overflows with ripples from waterlilies which are highlighted by the luminous reflections of the sun. The garden remains open year-round and provides numerous opportunities for visitors to take in its peaceful beauty.
