Japanese Tea Garden
📍 United States
The Japanese Tea Garden in San Antonio, Texas is one of the oldest public Japanese gardens in the US, and a popular spot for tourists and photographers. The garden was founded in the 1880s when a local resident had a Japanese artesian build a Japanese garden and solid structure. The garden is set within a beautiful limestone grotto, with bridges, waterfalls and ponds. Visitors can enjoy the sights of pagodas, a variety of bonsai trees, a zen garden, and a miniature Daruma Temple. The garden also features a teahouse, an elevated terrace, ponds, a stream and a koi pond. There are numerous species of plants and trees, a koi pond, several smaller wading pools, and a variety of garden sculptures and ornaments. Additionally, visitors can explore dedicated areas for seasonal events, such as a Memorial Day observance.
