James Bond Island
📍 From Inside, Thailand
James Bond Island lies in Phang Nga Bay off Tambon Krasom, within Ao Phang Nga National Park. The name commonly refers to Khao Phing Kan and the slender offshore limestone stack Ko Tapu, whose distinctive top-heavy profile became internationally recognizable after appearing in the 1974 film The Man with the Golden Gun. Part of the bay’s dramatic karst landscape, the island features sheer rock faces, sheltered coves, and weathered limestone textures shaped by tropical water and erosion. The classic photograph frames Ko Tapu from Khao Phing Kan’s small beach, where pale green water and layered cliffs give the isolated sea stack a striking sense of scale. Access is by boat, and visitors should follow national park conservation rules.
