Jakarta Kota Station is a major railway station in Indonesia's capital city, Jakarta. Formerly known as Batavia Kota Station, it is one of the oldest railway stations in Indonesia. Built in 1887, it was the main railway station of the Dutch East Indies at that time, specifically the Batavia part of the colony. The station is now renowned for its antique architecture. The building is constructed in the neo-renaissance style and is marked by a large clock tower at its front.An iconic landmark, it is a popular tourist spot and is often seen in many postcards and photographs of the city. There are many shops and eateries surrounding the station, making it the perfect spot to embrace the hustle and bustle of Jakarta. Its platforms serve as the main railway station for the Kalijaga and Tanah Abang routes. In the near future, Jakarta Kota Station will be part of the Trans-Jakarta bus rapid transit system, allowing passengers to access different parts of the city quickly and easily.
