Isole Borromee are three magnificent islands located in the Borromean gulf in Stresa, an elegant city in the Piedmont region of Italy. The islands are Bella, Madre and Superiore, each with different characters. Bella (the largest) features a beautiful Baroque garden designed in the 17th century. Visitors can admire the view of Stresa and the majestic Alps in the background. Madre island is home to three villas, as well as a nature park with attractions for all ages. Superiore island hosts ruins of an old palace and a large terrace surrounded by lush vegetation. The Borromean Islands are a favorite day-trip destination from Stresa, where ferries run from April to October. Experience the Renaissance-style architecture, gardens that burst with color, and enchanting old towns and hamlets.
