Towering at about 56 meters, Islam Khoja Minaret dominates Khiva’s skyline with gleaming turquoise, white, and brown stripes. Built in 1910 as part of the Islam Khoja complex, it marries traditional Islamic forms with modern influences. Climb the narrow spiral staircase (when open) for panoramic views of Ichan-Kala’s mudbrick buildings and courtyard life. The adjoining madrasa features fine tilework and carved wooden pillars, reflecting Khiva’s artisan legacy. A small entry fee may apply; early morning or late afternoon visits reward photographers with stunning light.
