Ile-Alatau National Park is located in the Tian Shan Mountains of Kazakhstan, on the outskirts of Almaty. It is known for its pristine natural landscapes, which feature mountain ridges and peaks up to 4,000 meters above sea level, as well as deep gorges and ravines. The park is home to an astounding variety of plant and animal life: over 200 species of birds, around 60 species of mammals (including the rare snow leopard and argali), and over 300 species of plants. Tourists can enjoy scenic trails with magnificent views, diverse flora and fauna, and crystal-clear rivers and lakes. Those who prefer extreme activities can also take part in rafting, rock climbing, and glacier-trekking. Moreover, the Ile-Alatau Nature Education Center offers various educational programs about the unique flora and fauna of the area.
