Iglesia de San Román, known locally as Església de Sant Romà, is the parish church in the historic center of Lloret de Mar, a short walk from the seafront. Built in the early 16th century in the Catalan Gothic tradition, it originally had a fortified character suited to a coast exposed to maritime raids. Later additions introduced vivid Modernista decoration, creating its distinctive blend of stone walls, pointed forms, colorful ceramic mosaics and ornate domes. The contrast between the sober Gothic structure and the bright patterned roofs makes the exterior especially recognizable, while the surrounding narrow streets provide layered views of its towers and façades. As it remains an active place of worship, quiet and respectful conduct is appropriate inside.
