📍 From Drone, Sweden
Idskär is a small skerry beside Ingmarsö in the Stockholm archipelago, where narrow channels separate wooded islands from low, exposed granite. Its name reflects the Swedish term skär, used for rocky islets shaped by glacial erosion and the archipelago’s continuing land uplift. The visual character comes from the contrast between pale, weathered stone, dark pines and the shifting blue-grey water; calm conditions can create clean reflections, while wind reveals the skerry’s more rugged maritime setting. Boats, jetties and scattered summer houses place the scene within Ingmarsö’s lived island landscape rather than an untouched wilderness.
