📍 Spain
Ibón de Acherito is a glacial mountain lake above the Zuriza valley, in the western Aragonese Pyrenees of Huesca and within the Valles Occidentales Natural Park. “Ibón” is the regional term for a high-altitude lake formed by glacial action, and Acherito occupies a natural basin beneath steep ridges close to the French border. Its compact sheet of dark blue-green water, pale rock walls and grassy slopes create strong contrasts, while calm conditions can produce clear reflections of the surrounding peaks. Reached on foot from the Zuriza area, the lake feels closely tied to the pastoral and alpine landscape of the Ansó valley.
