Hyangwonjeong Pavilion and Park was constructed by King Gojong as a place for rest and relaxation in Seoul, South Korea. The pavilion is supported on a large lake and filled with a wonderful array of exotic foliage. The pavilion was originally used as a royal garden and today, provides visitors with an insight into the life of the Korean royal court. Within the pavilion is the Hyangwonjeong Bridge, a long wooden bridge that extends 300 meters across the lake to the other side. On the eastern side of the lake lies the Hyangwonji, a two-story pavilion that was used as a library and reading room by the king. The park also features a number of traditional Korean gazebos, ponds and sculptures, providing visitors with a truly beautiful and peaceful environment. Hyangwonjeong Pavilion and Park is a great spot for photographers who are looking for traditional Korean landscapes.
