Built in 1570, it was the first major example of Mughal architecture in India and is the final resting place of Humayun, the second Mughal Emperor. Visitors to this sprawling complex are captivated by the grounds’ avenues of trees and formal gardens, as well as its majestic architecture. Adjoining the gardens is the tomb of Humayun, with its ornate white marble façade and the river Yamuna in the background.
