Hraunfossar Waterfall is located in the Borgarfjörður area of West-Iceland, in a region called Húsafell. It is formed by rivulets streaming from a lava field that flows into Hvítá, a glacial river. The natural beauty of the area offers stunning views of mossy stones, clear shimmering water, and lush greenery. The waterfall is only a few metres in height, but its deep blue colour stands out against the pastel-coloured lava. The area is home to a variety of wildlife, such as birds, fish and herds of wild ponies. Hraunfossar Waterfall is a popular tourist attraction, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the stunning natural landscapes and take in the breathtaking views. Visitors can take a short hike to the waterfall, or make a day of exploring the local area and taking in views of the nearby lava field.
