Honour Gate is a grandiose entranceway to the world-famous Versailles Palace in France. Built in the 17th Century, the Honor Gate overlooks the beautiful gardens of the estate. Visitors to Versailles can either walk in through the Honour Gate or take a shuttle-type tour to it. The Honor Gate stands atop a long flight of steps flanked by two wings. On either side of the steps are the gardens, which are surrounded by walls and iron gates. The Honor Gate consists of two pavilions, one on either side, each with statues of Louis XIV and Famous warriors. The pavilions are festooned with sculptures, reliefs, and ornamental arches. Walking through the Honour Gate is a treat for visitors and an incredible sight to behold.
