📍 From West Kowloon Art Park, Hong Kong
Central is Hong Kong’s historic commercial and financial core on the north shore of Hong Kong Island, across Victoria Harbour from Yau Tsim Mong on the Kowloon peninsula. Its streets reflect the city’s development from a colonial trading port into an international banking centre, with the HSBC headquarters, angular Bank of China Tower and tall Two International Finance Centre shaping the skyline. At street level, double-decker trams run along Des Voeux Road Central, while steep side streets climb toward the Mid-Levels, revealing the compressed geography between harbour and hillside. From the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront in Yau Tsim Mong, Central appears as a layered wall of towers above the water; Star Ferries crossing the harbour give the architecture scale and connect the skyline to the city’s everyday life.
