The Holy Monastery of Saints Rafael, Nicholas and Irene is a 10th century Byzantine monastery located in Spili, Southern Peloponnese, Greece. It was destroyed in the 17th century but rebuilt in 1715. The main church is dedicated to Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene, and though the icon of Saint Irene is especially revered. Other historical churches in the region include that of Saint Vlasis and Saint Gregory, both built in the 14th century. The monastery is surrounded by picturesque gardens and is a popular place to visit. It has a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside and is a very peaceful setting. Its location in the rocky terrain adds to its charm and makes it a great spot to enjoy the view and relax. Hiking, biking, and horseback riding are popular activities in the area. Recent archaeological excavations have identified ancient monastic settlements and the remains of a Christian basilica with many ancient inscriptions. There is also a museum with artifacts and exhibits related to the history and culture of the area.
