๐ From Rocher de la Vierge, France
The Rocher de la Vierge ("Rock of the Virgin") is a symbol of the French Basque town of Biarritz, located on the country's south-western coast. The majestic structure looks out onto the Atlantic Ocean, and towers over the nearby fishing port of Port-Vieux. The rock is accessible by foot (the view of Biarritz is breathtaking), and visitors can cross the small bridge to the top for a better view. In its core it houses a masterpiece by Auguste Couder: a bronze sculpture representing the Virgin Mary. Other sculptures and reliefs decorate the rock's stone base. The inspiring views of the sea, the town and the coast, blends in perfectly with the beauty of this iconic landmark.
