Hohes Schloss Füssen, also known as Füssen Castle, is a Gothic-style castle built in the late 13th century. It is located above the old part of Füssen, a town in the south of Germany. Built on a hilltop, with its towers and columns, the castle is a landmark of the town. It was once home to one of the most powerful families in Bavaria, the Hohenstaufen Dynasty, who left their mark in the form of the original Renaissance door that still today stands at the inner courtyard of the castle. It is now a museum with a very interesting collection of historical items. Its top level offers spectacular views of the area, including the surrounding hills and lake Alpsee. It is a perfect destination for tourists and photographers who are looking to explore and take in the rich history of the area.
