Hock Teik Soo Temple is an impressive Chinese temple located in the small city of Butterworth, Malaysia. It is one of the few temples in Malaysia with its historical roots going back to 1845. The temple features elaborate paintings of dragons, koi fish and mythical creatures decorating the walls and is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Inside the main shrine you will find a large 24-armed bronze statue of Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Compassion. Other highlights include beautifully hand-crafted wooden figures, statues of bodhisattvas and various old scriptures. There is also an interesting collection of artifacts in the temple's museum, giving you a glimpse into the temple's heritage and culture. Visitors are encouraged to explore and admire the temple, as well as its adjacent garden, all of which offer a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
