Hochgrat is a stunning mountain overlooking the picturesque town of Oberstaufen in the Bavarian Alps. It is the highest peak in the main "Allgäu" mountain range at over 1,700 meters high and is often regarded as Oberstaufen's local mountain. Hike up the mountain trail to get incredible views of the Allgäu Alps and the nearby Ostrach Lake as well as the towns of Bad Buchau and Oberstaufen below. Along the hike you will encounter colorful alpine meadows, pristine high-alpine lakes and idyllic glacier-covered summits. Popular activities at Hochgrat include touring the famous Adlerhorst high-alpine hut and summiting the mountain peak. The aerial cable car is also open in the summer to take visitors to the top for more panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. With its breathtaking landscape, quaint Bavarian towns, and exciting outdoor activities, Hochgrat has something to offer visitors of all types.
