Historisch Stadhuis IJsselstein, also known as 'De Overslag', is a historic city hall in IJsselstein, Netherlands. It was built in 1609 and was originally the home of several wealthy families. The city hall was rebuilt and extended in 1731 and the main building, which still stands today, is characterised by its striking gable, arches and turrets. It is considered to be one of the most outstanding monuments of Dutch Classicism. The building houses several galleries, meeting rooms and offices. Visitors can admire the original decor of the old city hall, including the carved ceiling, 12th century tapestries and a magnificent marble wall from the 19th century. Outside the building there is a beautiful garden with a pond, sculptures and a column with a sundial. Historisch Stadhuis IJsselstein is an important historical site and a must-visit for tourists visiting IJsselstein.
