Hiroshima Castle

Hiroshima Castle, located in Hiroshima, Japan, is an impressive sight to behold. Built in the 1500s, Hiroshima Castle is the symbol of the city. The three-story castle was reconstructed after the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. The reconstruction was made with a combination of traditional techniques and modern materials. It contains a museum that recounts the history and stories of the area, as well as a collection of artifacts and art objects from the reign of the lord of Hiroshima. The castle grounds are beautiful, and at the top is a viewing platform that offers spectacular views of the city and of the bay. The castle grounds also have various seasonal cherry blossom events and festivals. There is a traditional Japanese garden, as well as a restaurant serving regional and international cuisine. There are also guided tours of the castle, in both English and Japanese.
