High Level Bridge
📍 United Kingdom
The High Level Bridge in Tyne and Wear is an iconic Grade 1-listed structure that connects Newcastle's central city area with Gateshead. Built in 1849, this Victorian railway bridge is an impressive sight - especially when viewed from Newcastle's Quayside. The 124 meter long structure provides stunning views over river Tyne and its surroundings from the south and north banks. During the day and at sunset, the bridge is a great spot for photos or even for a romantic stroll. Visitors can also see the mighty Bessie Surtees House, the rust red High Level Bridge (coming from the Tyne Bridge) and the Millennium Bridge from the south side of the bridge.
