Heilstätten Beelitz is an abandoned sanatorium complex located in the small town of Beelitz, Germany, about 50 km south of Berlin. It is a popular site for photographers due to its eeriness and mysterious atmosphere. The sanatorium was built in 1898 and was once one of the biggest tuberculoses therapies in all of Europe. After World War II, the sanatorium was used as a Soviet military hospital until 1995. A lot of the rooms and hospital wards remain as they were abandoned. You can explore the decaying site while admiring the once grandeur architecture and artistic murals. Due to its popularity, the area is being preserved by the town council and guided tours are available throughout the year.
