📍 United States
Haw River is a picturesque stretch of water located in Pittsboro, United States. It is an important part of the Piedmont-Albemarle Route (PAR) which is a 130-mile long, scenic, native fish-rich and paddling progression from Roxboro Falls in Person County to the Pamlico Sound near Manteo. This area offers an incredible paddling experience, with winding river valley access to class I, II, and even some 10-foot weirs.

Activities such as biking, fishing, and camping are also popular here. The Haw also connects to four lakes with rapids, access to several unique ecosystems, and 200-mainland acres - complete with sandy beaches and abundant wildlife. Either by paddling or fishing, travelers can get up close with nature by witnessing animals like beavers, kayaking turtles, and a variety of waterfowl. Along the Haw River, visitors can also access several North Carolina State Parks offering an abundance of recreational opportunities, as well as places such as Jordan Lake, which offers hiking, swimming, and a plethora of other activities like camping and hunting. Whether looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, or enjoy a peaceful and scenic getaway, the Haw River should be a part of any traveler’s itinerary.
