Haus Schütting
📍 Germany
Haus Schütting is a beautiful and traditional building built in 1568 for the prestigious Schütting merchants' guild in the city of Bremen, Germany. It stands in the heart of the city in its own square, surrounded by the 16th century buildings of the city's other artisan guilds. It is faced with pale yellow sandstone, with a high stepped gable above the main doors. Inside, the large 55 foot meeting hall has a highly detailed ceiling featuring hundreds of guild emblems and merchants' coats of arms. It also features one of the oldest stained glass windows in the city. The building is now used as a cultural center and exhibition space and visitors are welcome, with open days and guided tours.
