One of the world’s largest mosques, Hassan II Mosque is perched on Casablanca’s Atlantic shore. Built in 1993, its 210-meter minaret towers above the city, making it Morocco’s most iconic landmark. The vast complex accommodates 105,000 worshippers, showcasing Moorish architecture, intricate mosaics, and cedarwood ceilings. Non-Muslims can join guided tours of the prayer hall, ablution rooms, and a glass floor revealing the ocean below. Stroll the oceanside promenade for dramatic views at sunset. Modest attire is required, and entry fees apply. Photography is allowed, but please be mindful of worshippers and prayer times.
