📍 From Am Hof, Austria
Hallstatt is an enchanting Alpine village situated in the Salzkammergut region of Austria. With its iconic lake and breathtaking mountain scenery, it has been called the "Pearl of Austria" and a "living postcard". Originally a salt mining town, Hallstatt is now a mecca of culture and rich history. Some of its remarkable sites include the 13th century Catholic Church, the Hallstätter See lake, the Saltzwelten salt mine, and the unique Hallstatt Skywalk. Visitors to the town can also enjoy a leisurely picnic along the shore of the lake, or take a boat or gondola ride to explore the other side of the lake. Hallstatt also offers a variety of delicious eateries and cozy local cafes, as well as a few great places for shopping of pretty souvenirs, antiques, and salt-related artifacts. With so much to see and do, Hallstatt is a great spot for a day trip or a longer holiday.
