📍 From Galata Bridge, Turkey
Haliç and Galata Bridge in Ayvansaray, Turkey is a stunning spot for travelers and photographers alike. The Haliç is the famous Golden Horn – a deep protected inlet that flows through the centre of Istanbul, which separates the European shoreline of the city from the Asian. The Galata Bridge spans the length of the Golden Horn, connecting old and new Istanbul.

From the bridge, you can get a stunning view of the skyline of the city’s historic Old Town and the Topkapı Palace, as well as the bustling ships and ferries taking passengers across the Horn. The bridge also hosts busy street vendors, and the many fisherman trying to net their catches, making it a vivid and photogenic spot. The area around the Galata Bridge is also home to some fantastic food and drink, with the famed fish sandwich being a must-have for visitors. In particular, the neighborhood of Ayvansaray is a great place to explore, with its narrow cobblestoned streets, ancient mosques and charming cafes. It’s a great way to get a feel for the real Istanbul, and a great place for photographers looking for more off-the-beaten-path shots.
