Hacienda Uayalceh stands within the village of Uayalceh, south of Mérida in Yucatán’s Abalá municipality. The former estate reflects the region’s henequen era, when haciendas organized both agricultural production and community life around fiber processing. Its weathered masonry, arcaded façades, broad courtyards and industrial remains reveal the contrast between domestic grandeur and working infrastructure. Repetition of arches, faded plaster and vegetation reclaiming the buildings give the site its distinctive visual character, while the surrounding village shows how an old hacienda nucleus became part of a living rural settlement.
