Hacienda de Cortés is located in Coyoacán, Mexico City. Once a luxurious palace brought by conquistador Hernán Cortés and used as a residence by his descendants until the 18th century, it is now a museum and cultural complex. Upon visiting here, you can explore gardens and art galleries on the estate, view beautifully restored and preserved historical architecture, admire contemporary mural paintings, and purchase local handicrafts from the market. As it is located within the walls of a convent, the complex has kept many of its traditional features, making it an idyllic place to visit. Its wrought-iron doors, chapels, courtyard and traditional kitchen remind visitors of past times. It’s a great place to admire Mexican culture and history!
