Haar Castle (Kasteel de Haar) is located in the Dutch town of Haarzuilens, near Utrecht. The castle was originally built in the late 14th century, but was destroyed in the late 16th century. It was later rebuilt by Alphons Baron Van Pallandt in 1892 in neo-gothic style, who commissioned an impressive restoration project. The castle is now a combination of original medieval features and its later 19th-century additions. Visitors can explore the castle's various rooms, including a regal hall, chapel, dining room, kitchen, antiques gallery and a replica of a knights' hall. The castle gardens are also worth exploring, with its historic castle terraces, avenues of trees, ponds and cascades. Admission to the castle is €14.50 for adults, albeit with discounted fees for children, students and seniors. The castle is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
