Ha'penny Bridge
📍 Ireland
The Ha'penny Bridge, officially known as the Liffey Bridge, is an iconic pedestrian bridge in Dublin, Ireland. Spanning the River Liffey, it connects the bustling Temple Bar area to the north side of the city. Completed in 1816, it was the first pedestrian bridge to cross the Liffey and remains one of Dublin's most photographed landmarks. Its name derives from the half-penny toll that was charged to cross it until 1919. The bridge features elegant cast-iron arches and a graceful, curved design, making it a charming example of early 19th-century engineering. A stroll across the Ha'penny Bridge offers picturesque views of the river and is a quintessential Dublin experience, often accompanied by the lively sounds of street musicians.
