Grotta Rita is a sea cave cut into the white limestone cliffs just east of Torre dell'Orso on the Salento coast of Apulia, opening directly onto the Adriatic. It sits within the same dramatic coastline that frames Torre dell'Orso’s long sandy bay and the nearby twin sea stacks known as Le Due Sorelle, giving the cave immediate geographic context. Visually, the cave offers a tight, water-level mouth that frames vivid contrasts between cool blue-green sea, sunlit cliffs, and shadowed interior surfaces; sunlight filtering into the cavity creates strong reflections and color gradations on the water that change with wind and tide. The entrance is accessible from the beach by small boat, kayak, or a strong swim, and photographs are most striking when composed to use the cave mouth as a natural frame that juxtaposes textured limestone and glassy sea.
