Großer Stern (“Great Star”) is a major road junction on the eastern side of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, outside the compact medieval old town. Its name reflects the radiating street pattern rather than a historic monument. The site shows the transition between Rothenburg’s everyday modern districts and the celebrated walled center, with converging roads creating strong geometric lines and a sense of movement. Photographs here can place the old town’s roofscape and towers within the less familiar context of the contemporary town around it.
