Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, United States, is a stunning and historical landmark although lesser known than Hollywood Sign and Santa Monica pier. The observatory is great place to experience the history and science of astronomy as well as to get some good view of the Los Angeles skyline.

The observatory was built in 1935 and it is a free and open park to the public. It features a planetarium and an array of exhibits. It is a interesting learning experience to all age groups. You can also take a breathtaking hike to the Hollywood sign from the Griffith observatory. At this place there are several viewing telescopes (operated at nighttime) that can give you views of planets, stars and galaxies. The best times to visit the Griffith Observatory are either in the morning or late afternoon when the Sun won't be so bright and harsh. Visitors can go up to the roof of the building and get excellent views of DTLA. Because of the stunning views the observatory is popular among photographers and soon capture some stunning shots. People can find some excellent sunsets and night skies if they visit this place at the right time.
